Mark Bingham's Photograph EXIF/IPTC Data Shows Date 08/30/2001?

Bearing in mind all the research I have conducted surrounding alleged United 93 passenger Mark Kendall Bingham, or should I say Gerald “Mark” Bingham, or even Gerald Kendall Bingham, which ever his legal name is, as I am still unsure, and still attempting to find a resolution surrounding this mystery. Interestingly, in 2010, I was reminded myself that 9/11 researcher Phil Jayhan made an interesting discovery involving Mark Bingham’s photograph that was published and circulated by CNN and Associated Press (AP). Here is a rather large blunder on the part of CNN or AP Press; Mark Bingham’s Exif/IPTC data shows as 08/30/2001.

Some 13 days before 9/11, complete with a working bio and obituary, all carefully prepared, or in this case, not so carefully prepared, some two weeks before 9/11!

It is no wonder that CNN went removing so many hundreds of pictures from their CNN Memorial page.

Jayhan continues,

Notice how it says how he was killed, 13 days before 9/11? Just who is Mark Bingham anyway? We were told that he was an openly gay man. President of his fraternity. And told that he nearly missed his flight, Flight 93. We were told the plane actually had closed its door and then reopened it to allow him to board.

Jayhan also states:

Mark Bingham is not in the Social Security Death Index nor is he in the Victims Compensation Fund.

Independent verification of photographic EXIF data

Mathiew Estepho at Math Easy Solutions (MES) independently checked on the 15th June 2025, the photograph used by CNN on their memorial website of Mark Bingham. Mathiew was able to confirm that the EXIF data did indeed show that that photograph was prepared on 30th August 2001, some 12 day prior to September 11th 2001 attacks.

Digital Forensic Investigations

Digital forensic investigations often involve checking the EXIF data of photographs. EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) data is a type of metadata embedded within image files that can provide valuable information about the image, such as the camera model, date and time the photo was taken, and even location data. This information can be crucial in verifying the authenticity of an image, tracing its origin, or even potentially identifying the user who created it.

The process is designed to ensure the integrity, admissibility, and reliability of digital evidence, which is crucial in modern cybercrime investigations and incident response.

Some debunkers claim that the EXIF data could have been modified?

This suggestion makes no sense whatsoever. Yes, EXIF data can be modified. While the data is initially recorded by the camera, it can be altered using various software tools. This includes changing the date and time, camera settings, or even adding or removing location data, however this would only create more suspicion that Bingham’s story was no true. So it could be counter-productive for the perps?

Closing Thoughts

The EXIF data discovery by Jayhan, coupled with the information I discovered about Bingham, and the fact he was NOT assigned a seat on Flight 93, and the fact his name was NOT listed in the flight manifest, along with issues surrounding Bingham’s real name, raises a number of suspicious circumstances surrounding the Bingham story, and whether or not Bingham boarded Flight 93 at all?
