There's no indication that those famous 9/11 "victims" were any different.
Then you had agents like Daniel Lewin on board the planes. I wouldn't consider people like him to have been "unwittingly involved not knowing their fate". Logic tells me he definitely would've known what was going down that day, as would some of the people on board all four planes.
